The conditions set out here constitute my terms of sale. Please contact me for clarity on any matter which is not clear or do not understand and note that nothing contained here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Bespoke Cakes
Timescales
I will endeavour to do everything I can to accommodate your order however I work to a maximum number of cakes per week and will not compromise quality through greed.

Check your order
While I take every measure possible to check orders it is also the responsibility of the client to make sure the details on the order form are accurate. While I will do everything I can to rectify the situation when an error is made, i.e. wrong date then the responsibility lies with the customer to check the details.
Deposits and payments
Your order is only confirmed on receipt of a non-refundable booking fee. For wedding cakes, the balance is due one month before the wedding. For celebration cakes, the balance is due14 days before the event. Cancelled orders with less than 14 days notice are payable in full.

Delivery
When a cake is to be delivered, it remains my responsibility whilst in transit. Where any damage occurs, it is my responsibility to make good that damage. If this is not possible, a partial refund will be given based on the level of damage. If the cake is collected, it becomes your responsibility to transport it. I will advise on the correct way to do this. Should damage occur once the cake has been delivered & signed for, or collected, the responsibility is that of the venue or customer, not Beyond The Icing.
Best before dates
When preparing cakes they sometimes need to be in prep for a few days before the event. Whilst I do everything to ensure the cake is as fresh as possible, the best before dates are usually within three days of the event. All my cakes are baked fresh to order, not frozen.
Ingredients, allergens, storage & cutting guide
A full ingredient listing will be provided along with any allergen advice & a cutting guide. This will be attached to the inside of the cake box for celebration cakes. If you have ordered a wedding cake this information will be given to the venue with an additional copy for displaying next to the cake if they so wish. Any allergen free cake will be clearly labelled.

Allergen disclaimer
Whilst I will do everything to cater for allergen sufferers, I do not have a separate space to work solely with allergen free cakes. I also cannot guarantee that my cakes do not contain allergens due to the manufacture processes of the ingredients and any residual traces of known allergens. Where I have been asked for allergen free cakes, you acknowledge that I will strive to eliminate contact with the allergens but as I do not specialise in allergen free cakes, a 100% allergen free cake cannot be guaranteed. By paying the booking fee, you agree to this clause and accept the risk.
Non-Edible Decorations
During the design process the client will be informed of any non-edible decoration that will be used to construct the cake. This information is also communicated to the client/venue at the time of delivery and noted on the cake details sheet provided at the time
Copyright
All cakes are photographed before being delivered/collected. The design copyright is the property of Beyond The Icing. I reserve the right to use any images of the cake for promotional purposes after the event. The photos are posted on my social media and website.
Customer satisfaction
In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with the cake I will do everything I can to rectify the matter. If it is a design issue, a photo of the cake is to be emailed within 48 hours of the cake being delivered, explaining the discrepancy. If it is a taste issue, a sample of the cake must be provided within 24 hours. A refund will only be offered on return of the cake.
